Director ID

Director Identification Number

A Director Identification Number (Director ID) is a unique identifier that a director applies for once, which then remains with them forever.

It is a 15 digit identifier to ensure the verification of a director’s identity with the Australian Government.

If you are a director of any company, you will need to apply for a Director ID.
This includes trading companies, beneficiary companies and corporate trustee companies of both trusts and superfunds.

As of November 2021, you can apply for a Director ID on the new Australian Business Registry Services, in which you will login through myGovID.
Please follow this link to apply.

You will need to Setup a MyGovID if you don’t already have one.
Note: MyGovID is different to MyGov

You will also need to have some ATO information such as a Notice of Assessment, and bank account details which have previously been used to receive a tax refund.
All existing directors must apply by 30 November 2022, however we strongly recommend you do this one time set up now to avoid any future penalties.

If you need any assistance setting up your Director ID, please do not hesitate to contact our office on 08 9266 0000.
